Daughters of the Ancient Waters: A Retreat for Mermaids, Sirens and Creatures of the Deep

What to Expect

Daughters of the Ancient Waters is a gentle, mystical retreat for sensitive souls who feel the call of the sea and the wisdom of the mermaids.

This will be a sanctuary for those who feel deeply, sense subtly, and carry ancient memory in their emotional and energetic bodies. Under a full moon, we will enter the living waters — both outer and inner — to reconnect with mermaid consciousness: intuitive, fluid, embodied, and deeply wise.

Through guided journeys, sacred ritual, water attunements, and spirit-lead creativity, we will soften back into our natural rhythm. Here, sensitivity is not something to manage or overcome — it is honoured as a gift, a language, and a lineage.

This retreat is a remembering.

A returning.

A homecoming to the ancient waters that have always known your name.

❋ Shared Accomodation

We will be staying in shared rooms on single and bunk beds. Choosing this simple, communal style of lodging allows us to immerse ourselves in pristine wilderness surroundings, prioritising nature, experience, and togetherness.

❋ Magic and Ceremony

Led by Spirit, held by our ancient guides. Fi from Way of the Fae will tune-in with the essence of the Merfolk and guide us as we embrace our own rewilding.

❋ Expert Facilitation

We will each create a magical Spirit Doll with renowned artist Nadia Turner, while also enjoying other creative activities under her guidance.

❋ Free Mermaid's Treasure Bag! (Over $200 value)

You will each receive a mermaid’s treasure bag featuring unique art creations from Nadia Turner, along with magical tools to support and enrich your Mer journey.

❋ All meals and snacks provided

Our meals will be primarily vegetarian to support well being and sustained energy. This allows us to meet a wide range of dietry accommodations while honoring sustainability and mindful nourishment.

Meet your Guides:

Fi Reid from Way of the Fae

Fi is an Oracle — an ancient-hearted spiritual guide, healer, psychic and medium.

She walks between worlds, working with the fae, angels, ancestors and star guides to bring through insight, healing and remembrance.

She is deeply attuned to the energy of place, travelling to sacred lands and liminal spaces to listen to the wisdom held in the earth itself. Through tarot, intuitive vision and ancestral connection, Fi helps illuminate what has been hidden and gently guides souls back to their truth.

With over 15 years’ experience as a crisis counsellor, her work is both grounded and otherworldly — a meeting of compassion, clarity and magic. Fi’s greatest joy is awakening others to their own innate power, helping them remember who they have always been.

Fi will be running Moon Circle, meditations and sacred ceremonies throughout the retreat.

Nadia Turner from Tanglewood

Nadia Turner is an Illustrator and Artist who creates wayward wonders out of her glorious gallery and shoppe up in the magical Dandenong Ranges just outside of Melbourne.

She is heavily influenced by ancient myth, fairytales, witchcraft and the worlds of the Fae and uses a variety of mediums to convey her inner worlds.

She graduated with a Diploma of Illustration from Melbourne Polytechnic in 2005 and has since worked as an illustrator and artist, exhibiting in a number of solo and group shows within Australia and overseas and creating illustrations for a variety of clients from within the publishing industry as well as commissions for private individuals and businesses.

She especially enjoys illustrating children’s picture books and Oracle decks.

When not drawing or creating you’ll find her, coffee in hand, perusing bookstores or wandering in the forest looking for mushrooms and treasures.

Nadia will be running a Spirit Doll making Workshop on our retreat:

Guided by mermaid wisdom and lunar energy, you will create your own spirit doll: a sacred vessel infused with intention, memory and magic. We will use treasures found on the beach, as well as anything personal you would like to bring.

These dolls may become guardians, anchors, or gentle reminders of your connection to the ancient waters and your own intuitive depths.

Day One

Arrival: The Gathering Tide

As you arrive, you are welcomed into a liminal space between land and water. We soften into the rhythm of the place, settling our bodies, our breath, and our spirits. Introductions unfold naturally as the landscape begins to speak. The sea remembers why you’ve come—and your journey begins the moment you arrive.

Our 12 person cabin is based at Tidal River, Wilson’s Promontory National Park. Chosen for the gorgeous natural surroundings and especially because it is where the river meets the ocean - a felt, magical space - where mermaids are believed to reside.

*Please note that this will be shared accommodation, where we will be sleeping on single and bunk beds in shared rooms.

Check-In

From 5pm

Given some people might be working Friday, the arrival times may vary for some.

We have chosen 5pm in the hopes that you can arrive before dusk so as to be mindful of the wild life, and be able to find our cabin with ease.

We will have a light welcome dinner that can be sat down with and grazed at from different times, depending on your arrival.

And once we are all on deck, and well fed, we will have a Moon Circle together under the Full Moon and connect-in with the Mer and with each other.

Day Two

The Deepening: Entering the Water

Together, we gently dive inward. We listen for the quiet longings, intentions, and questions that have drawn you here. This is a time of alignment—within yourself and with the shared current of the group. We honour the paths that brought you to this shore, noticing what has shifted, what has opened, and what is ready to be explored in the depths.

Our day will begin with a courageous swim! (optional)

While this might seem shockingly impossible, that is the point. For it is about pushing past the limitations of the mind and embracing what waits beyond it.

We will then be rewarded with warm showers and a lovely hot breakfast on our return.

Other activities that follow will be a Siren Song Ceremony, a beautiful walk along the beach - looking for mermaid treasures for our Spirit Doll Making Workshop.

Depending on the weather and our energy levels, we will have some other quiet, creative activities on offer - and you are most welcome to slip away at any time and have some downtime/alone/integrating time as needed.

After a lovely dinner, (if the weather allows) we will head down to the beach for an evening meditation and a night of star-gazing.

Day Three

Emergence: Rising with the Pearl

As our time draws to a close, we begin to surface—renewed, nourished, and carrying new clarity. We turn our gaze toward what lies ahead, making space for integration, inspired action, and gentle momentum. Together, we honour the magic woven, the connections formed, and the gifts you carry back into the world like a pearl from the deep.

On our last day we will rise and have breakfast together.

(We have an optional extra on offer for a Whale Watching Cruise - depending on how many of us are interested in this. It will be an additional cost of $165 pp - please let us know if this is something you’d like to do)

Alternatively, we will spend the rest of the day finishing up with our creative activities, complete a closing circle ceremony and finish-up by 12pm.

*More information will be provided once you have registered - such as how to find the cabin, a packing list and more.
